Test Procedure |
-
Take out the test cassette by opening the
sealed pouch.
-
Add 1 drop of sample (blood, serum, or plasma) followed by 8-10 drops of buffer
into the sample well
-
Read results after 15 minutes.
Results are NOT valid after 30 minutes.

|
Interpretation of Results |
-
Only one purplish-red line at the control zone indicates a negative result.
-
Two purplish-red lines, one
each at control zone and one at test zone, indicate a
positive result.
If there is a positive test an additional confirmation
test should be ordered immediately.

|
|
Invalid Results |
-
If control line does not appears at the control
zone.
-
If both test and control lines do not appear.

Test
Principle
A highly specific and unique set of antigens is used in the test card. Colloidal gold is conjugated to a
highly purified antibody binding protein. As the sample migrates onto the test card, it binds with the antibodies and keeps on moving along with all the ingredients. As it comes in contact with the test line material and if antibodies to HIV are present, the immune complex will bind with the test line; a
purplish-red colored line will appear in the test zone after the reading time. If there are no antibodies to HIV, the complex will pass through the test zone and some of the complex will bind to the control line at the control zone and will produce a
purplish-red line after the reading time, which also indicates the integrity of the testing.
Storage and Stability
If kept at 8-30°c in the sealed pouch the test
cassette is stable for 2 years.
Safety
The recombinant antigens contained in the test
cassette are incapable of transmitting the infection. All blood components should be considered as being potentially infectious and should be handled as such. They should be disposed of in accordance with established safety procedures.
The rapid test can be used with human fresh blood, serum or plasma.
Repeatedly frozen and thawed samples may produce erroneous results.
Store the serum or plasma specimen at 20°c.
Precautions
Do not use the test kit beyond the expiry date.
Do not store kit at extreme temperatures.
